Golf Course Design
The RBA Group offers the seamless integration of an in-house team, from golf course architecture to complete engineering, environmental and architectural services, producing imaginative new course designs and remodeling solutions. We tailor our services to the specific needs of each client and project.
The RBA Group's golf course design staff, headed by A. John Harvey, ASGCA, has worked on new course design and remodeling of numerous golf courses in the United States and abroad. Many projects have involved working in and around a variety of site conditions including environmentally sensitive wetlands and watercourses, steep slopes, rock quarries, sand and gravel mines, intracoastal soil disposal sites, archaeological sites, coastal frontage, brownfields and on the shores of municipal drinking water reservoirs. The planning and permitting process for new course development can sometimes become quite lengthy. Our course design staff has the expertise to guide the route planning and detailed design through the agency review process. For the remodeling or renovation of existing golf courses, our golf course architects have successfully demonstrated its abilities to develop well crafted master plans and has supervised their reconstruction through hands-on field design. RBA serves both public and private sector clients.
Mr. Harvey's design philosophy involves crafting the course layout with the landscape to form a challenging and beautiful sequence of memorable holes that compliment natural site features.
