At The RBA Group, our engineers and planners know the complexities involved in the development of Greenways programs. In developing a program, it is important to address the concerns and needs of the often divergent views of state public officials, state agency personnel, environmentalists, and greenway users. Greenway development involves connecting parks, forests, gamelands, and other destination areas to places people live, for recreation, alternative transportation and conservation ends. Programs generally include bicycle and pedestrian facilities, places of historic significance, and easy accessibility to amenities.
Recently RBA was recognized with the Tom Lee State Award For Excellence from the Association of Flood Plain Managers for our Pennsylvania Greenways Action Plan. This statewide master planning project was developed for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
