With the groundswell of public support and government funding for open space preservation, greenways have become an important component of local, county, and state preservation efforts. These corridors of open space, when properly designed, developed, and managed, offer recreational, environmental, economic, and transportation related benefits. Many of our trails and greenways are designed for bicycle and pedestrian traffic only. When The RBA Group plans a trail & greenway area design it includes connections to neighborhoods, schools, historic sites, scenic natural areas, rest areas, picnic areas, amenities, and business districts.

Trail and greenway planning and design have become a specialty for The RBA Group. We have designed and or master planned over 120 miles of greenways, trails, and rail-trails throughout the eastern United States. Our recent projects include the The East Coast Greenway Northern NJ Rout Location Study, NYS&W Bicycle and Pedestrian Path, Morris County, NJ; Pennsylvania Statewide Greenways Plan and Program Development and Implementation; Cobb County, GA Rail-Trail; Delaware River Heritage Trail Feasibility Study, NJ; Rockville, MD Bicycle Beltway; Pittsburgh-to-Washington, DC Trail, Confluence to Fort Hill Section, Somerset County, PA; and Route 1 Utility Corridor Trail Feasibility Study, NJ.
