The RBA Group offers a wide range of opportunities to achieve "context sensitive" planning and design by incorporating public art into the planning process. From transportation planning and traffic calming, to site planning, downtown revitalization, scenic byways planning, bicycle and pedestrian facilities planning and transit planning, The RBA Group approaches its design strategies to incorporate public art early in the planning process. By integrating public art into the design of a place, ownership is offered to the community, while concurrently signifying local character and individuality. Through innovative community outreach practices and consensus building techniques, we generate an atmosphere for artists to work with planners, architects and other designers in the early stages of planning and design. We believe that in almost any circumstance, context sensitive design techniques coupled with public arts inclusion can make the place the artwork, rather than simply adding art to a place.
