This relatively new discipline seeks to integrate alternative modes of travel into our nation's transportation system and to increase the quality of life for communities and their residents. Over the past decade, The RBA Group has developed numerous urban, regional, rural, and statewide bicycle/pedestrian transportation plans throughout the Eastern United States. Our planners perform a comprehensive analysis of the proposed route and incorporate historical, recreational, and service facilities that provide the user with a healthy, educational, and safe experience. Another important aspect of pedestrian planning involves incorporating pedestrian facilities into an existing urban area. Design often involves improvements such as new intersection crosswalks and sidewalks that accommodate pedestrian traffic in a safe manner in relation to the existing community. As a result of our work industry guidelines and standards for future bicycle/pedestrian designs have been established for the state of New Jersey. We have also provided statewide master plans for Delaware and Pennsylvania. Our planners are experienced and sensitive to the individual regulations of each state and local municipalities thus an emphasis is placed on incorporating individual standards to each design. The RBA Group is considered the leader in bicycle route and pedestrian planning.
