At The RBA Group, we are sensitive to the many roles streets play. In addition to conveying traffic of all kinds (both motorized and non-motorized), our streets also accommodate underground utilities, above ground fixtures and dynamic interim uses such as street fairs and parades. Because streets are such dynamic places, successful streetscape design requires consolidation of street furniture elements, careful coordination with above and below ground utilities and a design approach that acknowledges the surrounding context.
We subscribe to the philosophy that our public open spaces, streets in particular, must be designed with all users in mind. The RBA Group conducts extensive field surveys, public outreach and historical records research to fully inform the conventional design process. Good design is both challenged and inspired by the age, density and cosmopolitan nature of the urban environment. Our professionals work together to design engaging, people-friendly places that make the most of what our communities have to offer.
